The Client Lounge is a space I created to help you plan and prepare for a great photo session with your family. In this space, you will find resources to help you with the following…
Your photos are a reflection of you and your family.
Picking the perfect location to reflect your family’s style is important. This guide is designed to offer you some tips for picking the perfect location as well as provide you with some beautiful areas that work well for photos in and around Pittsburgh.
“What should we wear?!”
This is usually the first question that comes up after booking a session. It can feel stressful but don’t worry — I have you covered. My interactive style guide will give you all the tips for coordinating the perfect outfits, providing inspiration for a great color palette and access to my personal styling service to turn your ideas into reality!
Relax and enjoy your family. Let me do the work!
Got little ones? While they can certainly be unpredictable, don’t stress. I’ve worked with enough kids over the years to feel confident we will find a way to bring out their personalities for some great photos. Look over some of my best tips for preparing yourself, little ones and even husbands for a great session and I’ll take it from there!
After you book your session, you will get an email and text from me to begin planning. If you have questions at all, I’m always available to help. Just ask!
During this step, you will be busy coordinating your outfits, preparing your family and choosing the perfect location for your photo session.
About one week before your session, I will send you some last-minute reminders along with a link to pay the balance of your session.
On the day of your session, feel free to reach out to me with any questions. At your session, you get to kick back, relax and enjoy your family while I get some great photos.
Within a few days after your session, I will send you a sneak peek of some of my favorites from your session in a blog post. If you prefer to keep your photos private, that’s no problem!
Within 2 weeks, I will deliver your gallery via email. You will get access to a private gallery you can share with friends and family. You can download your images or order prints and/or products direct from the gallery.
About a week after I deliver your gallery, I will check in one last time to make sure you were happy with everything. If you loved your experience and love your photos, please consider leaving a 5-star review!
The ideal time for photos is during golden hour. This occurs 1-2 hours prior to the sun setting. This time of day will give us the prettiest light. I understand however this might not be ideal for little ones. In this case we can easily move to a morning session or move up the start time. Happy kiddos are much more important than the perfect time!
I understand that curveballs come all the time. In the event of bad weather or an unforeseen circumstance that conflicts with your scheduled photo session, I am happy to reschedule!
Absolutely! Our fur babies are family too and they are more than welcome to join you whether it’s an on-location family photoshoot or an in-home session. If we are on-location, I usually just have to confirm that dogs are permitted but in most cases they are. If you can, sometimes it helps to enlist a friend or family member to assist!
All sessions will get photos within 2 weeks from the session date. If you sign the model release and approve, you will get a link to your sneak peek blog post within 3 days after your session. The sneak peek includes 5-7 favorite photos from your session. You can share this on social media or share the link with friends and family.
Your gallery will be delivered via email and where you can download your full gallery with one click.
Yes, of course. I offer an easy and convenient way to order directly from your gallery. I offer high quality, affordable, quality prints, enlargements, canvases and other items. These items are printed at a professional photo lab that I highly recommend.
Regardless of where you choose to print your images, I encourage you to not only print them and enjoy them but be sure to use a professional lab. Please do not use retail locations such as Walgreens or Walmart as their machines are not consistently calibrated to produce professional quality images.
Yes! I will usually help erase or minimize any non-permanent marks as needed. This could include acne that snuck up, a scratch or dry skin. In most cases, it’s a simple retouch and it’s included with your session.
In the event of the need for more advanced editing, I’ll chat with you about retouching options for you to decide.
My newborn sessions are usually scheduled 7-21 days after birth but can be done any time really. Contact me once you have the baby and we will schedule your session. Newborn sessions are usually done during the week, between 10am and 2pm.
No, but I always encourage my clients to incorporate items that are special to them. For example, furniture heirlooms, special books or toys, vintage blankets and outfits.
No, I do not pose newborns. I am a lifestyle newborn photographer. “Lifestyle” is a style of portrait photography that aims to capture specific milestones in a real life setting. My shots will include family connection with baby, baby details, baby in nursery, family together in nursery, etc. And I will always use any space in the home with beautiful light.
Do not stress. My sessions are relaxed and casual. We will take the baby’s lead and feed, change, cuddle as many times as needed.
For parents and siblings I recommend keeping wardrobe simple for newborn sessions. You don’t want clothing to overshadow your new baby. Neutral colors are perfect for parents. Grey, white, cream, navy, and light blues photograph really nicely indoors.
For the baby I recommend something from home or a swaddle wrap.
If you are doing a film session, please do not wear stripes as it is difficult to film.
I typically recommend maternity sessions to be held between 33 and 36 weeks depending on mom’s comfort. We want a cute baby bump but do not want her to be uncomfortable.
