It was such a treat to be back with this family after meeting them at their holiday session just a little while back. When they told me they were expecting their second baby boy, I knew this session was going to be one to look forward to — and it did not disappoint.
The big brother, just about a year and a half, had plenty of opinions about the whole situation. He was curious about the new baby for exactly two seconds before he decided there were far more interesting things to investigate around the house. That kind of energy is my favorite — you can’t manufacture it, and honestly, you wouldn’t want to.
We gave the sibling shots a few good tries. What we got instead of perfectly posed brothers was a whole lot of laughter, and sometimes that’s the better story anyway.
The newborn, though — he was completely unfazed by all of it. Calm, settled, and ready to be photographed from the start. Those easygoing newborns make for some of the sweetest sessions, and this little guy was no exception. The cozy home gave us a warm, intimate backdrop that felt just right for those first few weeks.
