It’s funny how sometimes the best locations are hiding in plain sight. Soergel Orchards is just minutes from my house and a place I’ve visited more times than I can count—but for some reason, I never considered it for photo sessions. That changed when it was requested by a client, and I’m so glad I took the time to scout it.
To test it out, I invited a few families to help me give the space a trial run—and this one completely blew me away.
The landscape gave us everything we could have hoped for. With fields of sunflowers, rows of apple trees, and golden light spilling across the rolling hills, it turned out to be a dream location for golden hour.
This sweet crew showed up ready to go. Their two boys were full of curiosity and excitement, and it didn’t take long for the whole family to settle into the session and start enjoying the evening. The boys even started pointing out new photo spots—totally soaking in how beautiful the space was. We embraced their energy, mixed in some movement and play, and came away with a session full of natural smiles and connection.
