Senior Portraits & Family Photos at Allegheny Commons Park | Pittsburgh, PA

A spring senior portrait and family session at Allegheny Commons Park, captured during peak cherry blossom bloom. All photos by Pittsburgh family and senior photographer, Danielle Blewitt Photography.

Session Type: Senior Portrait & Family Session
Location: Allegheny Commons Park | Pittsburgh, PA

Some sessions just have a little extra meaning behind them. This family is an old friend and they were one of the first to hire me when I was just starting out, and getting to reconnect with them — years later — to photograph their oldest son’s senior portraits was not something I took lightly.

We had originally planned this session for the end of April, hoping to catch the cherry blossoms at Allegheny Commons. Pittsburgh had other ideas. The trees bloomed earlier than expected, and this family didn’t hesitate to move things around to make it work — and I’m so glad they did. That window is short, and we were right in the middle of it.

Their oldest is a high school senior now, and you could just tell what a genuinely good kid he is. He was relaxed and natural in front of the camera from the start — no awkwardness, no forcing it. It was an honor to be the one to document this chapter for him. Their younger son kept the whole session lively — silly, a little quirky, and entertaining from start to finish in the best way.

The parents were exactly as I know them best — warm, easy, no fuss. Really glad this one worked out.

Here’s a little sneak peek of some favorites from their spring session at Allegheny Commons.

Life Moves Too Fast!

Hi, I’m Danielle. I’m a Pittsburgh Family + Newborn photographer. As a mom of two, I know how fleeting the early years are. Since we can’t slow down time, we can record the moments that mean so much. I help Pittsburgh families hit pause by recording these memories in photographs and films and I would love to work with you. Let’s see what we can create!
