Pittsburgh Family Photographer | Marketing for Photography Businesses

I left the corporate marketing world to chase a dream and build a life I love.

Life is too short. This is something you often hear but without a plan or a purpose, it's just a saying.

Over 10 years ago, my husband and I got married and started our family. As our family grew, I found clarity in my purpose and plan. I loved my career in the business and marketing world but something was lacking. When I began photographing my own family, I found a love for capturing life as a way to slow it down. I found something I was truly passionate about.

My lightbulb moment was when I realized I could pair my love for photography with business and marketing and share what I knew with other family photographers in the same place.

From here I was able to build a business—as a family photographer and photography marketing educator—and a life I truly love, filled with purpose and passion and the flexibility I wanted to be at home with my family.

It all started with my own family and wanting to slow down time.

It wasn’t until my daughter was born more than 8 years ago that I found my love for photography. The blur of parenthood is no joke. There were so many moments and milestones that came and went in the blink of an eye. I found photography to give me the perfect way to record moments I didn’t want to forget. (And probably wouldn’t remember as the years move on.) As our family continued to grow, so did my love for the art of photography and film making.

I am forever grateful for the moments I have captured in photos and films. These will always be some of my most prized heirlooms and gifts to my children.

I became a family photographer to help other families do the same.

After I ventured into the world of film making, I became obsessed with the idea of sharing this gift with other families. I truly feel every family deserves to have a family film and photos that help record their seasons of life. These are cherished memories for the parents but more so a gift to their children. When I realized that wasn’t realistic, I decided to start my business.

Over 3 years I’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of Pittsburgh families. I feel so honored to be welcome into some of the most intimate and special times in their lives to help them record their family’s story. I am forever grateful for the opportunity.

Then I paired my love for business and marketing to help other photographers find the same success and life freedom.

After spending 15 years in the marketing world, and growing a successful photography business, it was time to take a leap of faith. I left my comfy corporate job to pursue photography full time and teach other photographers how to do the same.

Although I still feel new in many ways, I’ve cracked the code in creating a lucrative business that allows me to stay at home with my kids.
