Some families make every session feel easy, and this one has been that way since the very first time I photographed their daughter as a toddler. Now with two little ones, they’re still just as sweet—and just as flexible—when it comes to making photos happen. We carefully watched the weather, came up with a plan, and pivoted more than once, but it was worth it in the end.
Our reward was having Mellon Park completely to ourselves, which is rare in the fall season in Pittsburgh. The space gave us access to the most beautiful light—the only time it peeked out all day—and the kids thrived in it. Big sister and little brother were at their best when being silly with mom and dad, making for the kind of candid moments that truly capture this season of life.
