The mood everyone brings to a session really does set the tone for the whole thing, especially with little ones. Kids pick up on everything, and when mom and dad show up calm and easygoing, it carries right over to them. This session was a perfect example of that.
I first met this family last year, and it was so good to see them again. Everyone showed up looking beautiful, and mom was absolutely glowing. Their two little girls spotted me in the parking lot and ran right over to tell me all about their hair and show off their dresses. They were excited from the very first minute, and that’s always a good sign.
These girls came ready to model, explore, and have fun. They also knew there was a playground waiting for them at the end, and they made sure we didn’t forget it. A few photos in, they were already checking whether we were done yet. Mom and dad just went with the flow, we let the girls take the lead, and they handled a full family session like pros.
Altmyer Park has so many pretty, natural backdrops, and the wildflowers were still hanging on in soft purples and yellows that matched their outfits perfectly. We didn’t get a ton of sun, but there were a few early hints of fall around the park. When the sun finally peeked through, everyone sprang into action, and we grabbed a handful of photos in that warm golden light before it disappeared again.
