I first met this family when their daughter, their second little one, arrived, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to watch both kids grow since then. Before this session, her big brother told mom and dad he remembered his photos from last time. As a family photographer, that’s one of the best compliments I can get: knowing the kids actually had fun, remembered it, and were looking forward to the next one.
Pittsburgh weather is always a little unpredictable. The forecast called for clear skies, but there was still a threat of misting rain hanging over the evening. This family was flexible and decided to go for it, and I’m so glad we did. We ended up with a beautiful night for photos.
We met at Fern Hollow Nature Center in Sewickley, one of my favorite spots just outside Pittsburgh. It’s a beautiful, all-natural space, and parts of it start showing fall color earlier than anywhere else around here.
Both kids brought their A game. Their daughter was bubbly and full of energy from the start, and her brother was just as excited to be there. They were all in for every photo, with lots of laughter, big smiles, and plenty of running around in between.
