This family is extra special to me — the mom is one of my best friends, and she was back in Pittsburgh for the summer visiting family. She’s also a photographer herself, so she always knows exactly what she wants, and this time that meant booking a studio. With two kids and a Pittsburgh summer full of unpredictable weather, a studio felt like the dependable choice.
We used the Luxe Loft at East End Loft Studios, and that clean, bright white space was exactly the backdrop this family needed. Both kiddos were happy and easy the whole session, which made for such a relaxed session.
The best part of the day was getting to add in a set of ballet photos. Their daughter recently went on pointe, and we used part of the session to celebrate that milestone with some simple, beautiful shots of her. It felt like the perfect way to mark all the hard work that got her there.
Getting to photograph this family is always a treat, but getting extra time with them during their visit home made this one even better.
