Little kids move fast, want to do their own thing, and rarely sit still for a photo — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes these sessions so good. It’s a little chaotic in the moment, but those are the memories worth having. This family and I have been trying to make this one happen for a while now, so getting to finally spend an evening with them made it feel that much sweeter.
This little guy is sharp and so funny, with a running commentary and a few Spiderman poses thrown in for good measure. Mom and dad had some incentives on hand to keep him motivated, and it worked — by the end he was fully on board, sunglasses on, giving us some seriously cool shots full of personality.
We explored the full scope of Herr’s Island, from the stone staircase to the panoramic views of the city in the distance. It’s such a unique spot for a session, and the evening cooperated perfectly — warm but pleasant, with a sky that put on a show as the sun started to go down.
