There’s something really special about working with a family over time — getting to show up for the different milestones and seasons and watch their kids grow up through the camera. That’s exactly what it’s been like with this crew, and Hartwood Acres on a warm spring evening felt like the perfect way to kick off a new season together.
These two kids are deep in the silly stage right now, and honestly, it was the best. The whole session was full of giggles and goofy moments, and we just leaned into all of it. No fighting it — just letting them be exactly who they are right now.
I had mentioned that I’d spotted a snake at a previous session here, and that was all it took. They were on a mission. Total curiosity, dad included. It kept them entertained for a while and was pretty fun to watch.
The golden light that evening didn’t hurt either. Hartwood Acres on a spring evening is hard to beat, and we got some really beautiful light to work with.
