A Garden Family Session at Phipps Conservatory in Oakland | Pittsburgh, PA

A family session at Phipps Conservatory with a family of five and three boys who each bring their own energy. All photos by Pittsburgh family photographer, Danielle Blewitt Photography.

Session Type: Full Family Session
Location: Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Oakland | Pittsburgh, PA

Getting a whole family together in one place at one time is no small thing, especially with little ones in the mix. Some sessions come together easily. Others take a little patience and a lot of flexibility. This one was worth every bit of the wait, and I feel so lucky we finally made it happen.

I’ve known this family for a long time, so this one felt a little extra personal. Mom has a real eye for photos herself. She’s also a mom of three boys, so she knows better than anyone that the plan and the reality don’t always look the same. We went in with a few ideas and plenty of room to roll with whatever the day gave us.

All three boys showed up with their own vibe. Their youngest set the pace for the whole session. He had places to go and things to explore, and we followed his lead. A lot of our favorite frames came from finding little spots that held his attention just long enough.

Phipps made it easy. There were flowers in every color, with that beautiful glass architecture in the background. Even under soft, cloudy skies, there was something worth capturing in every direction, and the space carried us the whole way through.

Here’s a little sneak peek of some favorites from this family session at Phipps Conservatory.

Life Moves Too Fast!

Hi, I’m Danielle. I’m a Pittsburgh Family + Newborn photographer. As a mom of two, I know how fleeting the early years are. Since we can’t slow down time, we can record the moments that mean so much. I help Pittsburgh families hit pause by recording these memories in photographs and films and I would love to work with you. Let’s see what we can create!
