Washington’s Landing continues to be one of the best-kept fall secrets in the city. Tucked along the river, this peaceful island offers just enough trails, trees, and texture to feel like a hidden escape—especially during peak color.
This sweet family has been with me for years, and it’s always such a treat to catch up. I’ve documented everything from newborn moments to first birthdays for them, and each session just gets better. Their crew includes two little ones, a grandma, and a dog who decided to bring some unexpected drama this time—taking a peek a little too close to the edge of the river lookout. (Thankfully, no splash—just laughs!)
From there, everything felt easy. These four (plus grandma and pup) are naturally candid and connected, and it always comes through in their photos.
